MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino clarified the rumors that she had already passed away by posting an update on her health on Monday, May 16.
In the video posted by Kris on Instagram, she said she’s alive and continues to fight against several health conditions. She also denied being in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

“Yung chismis na na-confine ako, na nasa ICU, na nag-aagaw buhay, masyado kayong advance. Para klaro ang lahat and dahil gusto niyong patayin na ako – well, I am not yet dead. I am going to fight to stay alive,” she said in the video.
According to her post, Kris has three confirmed autoimmune conditions: spontaneous urticaria, autoimmune thyroiditis, and late-stage 3 of Churg Strauss Syndrome, also known as eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA).
Spontaneous urticaria is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic urticaria or hives in the body. Autoimmune thyroiditis happens when your antibodies attack your thyroid cells, leading to weakness, goiter, fatigue, etc. Meanwhile, EGPA is an extremely rare form of vasculitis or inflammation within small blood vessels, leading to blood flow restriction. Since there’s a restriction in the blood vessels, organs don’t get enough oxygen and nutrients. This could lead to organ damage if untreated.
Kris said she’s always been honest and open with her health battles. She admitted her health conditions are now life-threatening.
She wrote, “Mula end of April, we found out life threatening na yung illness ko. I’ve always been proud of my honesty & courage. Ginusto ko na maka lipad sana ng tahimik pero utang ko po sa mga nag darasal na gumanda ang aking kalusugan ang mag THANK YOU and to tell the TRUTH.”
The former TV host said her doctors are worried about organ damage, so they try their best to bring her to the US for medication. Kris said she’s expecting to leave the country on Thursday “in an effort to save me, my life, my organs.”
“Yung gamot that God willing can help save me doesn’t have FDA approval here or in Singapore and isasabay na po mag infuse ng chemotherapy as my immunosuppressant. Why? Allergic po ako sa lahat ng steroids,” she explained.
In the end, Kris appealed for respect and asked that she be spared from hurtful comments. She said that it was not for her sake but for her children. She said she posted a health update to correct the speculations about her.
“Not for my sake, pero for my 2 sons, 1 in the autism spectrum & 1 only 15- kung balak niyo pong mambastos or mag comment ng masakit o masama, sa mga sarili nyo na lang pong IG, FB, or chat group sana gawin. Hindi niyo po ako kailangan gustuhin para magpakatao… please don’t punish Kuya & Bimb for being my sons. Hindi po masama ang maglakas ng loob at magsabi ng sobrang bigat na katotohanan,” Kris said.
