MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) hailed the top performing schools in the August 2021 Mining Engineer board exam. The results are expected to be released this week, between August 16 to 18.
PRC and the Board of Mining Engineering administered the licensure exam (MELE) on August 9, 10, and 11, 2021 in Baguio, Cebu, Legazpi, and Koronadal.
Examination was originally scheduled on July 12, 13, and 14, 2021 but was postponed pursuant to Resolution No. 1378 (s. 2021). Few days before the exam in August, PRC announced the cancellation of MELE in the National Capital Region (NCR) pursuant to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) Resolution No. 130-A (s. 2021).

PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS
In the pre-pandemic era (August 2019), University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman topped the schools with 100% passing rate or all 35 takers passed. Mindanao State University – Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) ranked second with 97.44%.
In the August 2018 MELE, Saint Louis University (SLU) led the schools with 85.54% or 71 out of 83 passed. Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) – University ranked second with 80.36% or 45 out of 56 passed.
