MANILA, Philippines – A single father from Solana, Cagayan couldn’t hide his excitement and congratulated his son for passing the Bar exam hours before the announcement.

Renato Meniado Baysa was seen climbing a tree to put up a huge tarpaulin with a congratulatory message for his son Lynk Juren Baysa. The father was so sure that his son would pass the Bar even before the official results.
And Tatay Renato was right as Lynk was among the 8,241 bar passers out of the 11,402 who took the first-ever digital and regionalized bar exam in February 2022.

Tatay Renato is a single father to his three children. He used to be an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Japan but was an illegal worker or TNT (“Tago Ng Tago”). He worked hard abroad until he could buy a jeepney, which became his children’s source of allowance.
Finally, all his hardwork paid off now that his son Lynk is a lawyer. Atty. Lynk finished a degree in political science before pursuing law school. His older brother is also set to take the Bar exam this year.
According to the PIA-Cagayan who shared the inspiring story, Tatay Renato’s story reminds us that there’s a reward for all our hardwork.
They wrote, “Sabi nga nila, mahirap man ang mga pinagdaanan, may sorpresang nakalaan mula sa dakilang Diyos.”
They even explained why Tatay Renato was excited to put up the tarpaulin. They stated, “Kung tatanungin niyo kung bakit nakapagsabit kaagad si Daddy ilang oras bago lumabas ang resulta ay tama po kayo, dati nang may lay-out si Daddy at pi-naprint agad ang tarpaulin upang maisabit ito agad-agad. Ang tarpaulin ay hindi lamang basta congratulations kundi madamdamin ang nakasulat ritong mensahe.”
