MANILA, Philippines – The September 2021 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) or Physician board exam results, including the official list of passers, topnotchers (top 10), top performing schools and performance of schools are expected to be released online between September 22 and 30 or in 3-9 working days after the exam.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted the second regular Physician board exam this year on September 11, 12, 18 and 19, 2021 in Baguio, Cagayan de Oro,Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Tacloban and Zamboanga

PRC cancelled the PLE in the National Capital Region (NCR) because the regional Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on COVID-19 did not approve it. There was also a widespread calls from students and groups to postpone the exams amid the surge of COVID-19 cases in the country due to the Delta variant.

Meanwhile, exams in Tuguegarao City was postponed due to typhoon “Kiko”.

REGISTRATION AND OATHTAKING

PRC said that registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:

  • downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • notice of admission (for identification only)
  • 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • 2 sets of documentary stamps
  • 1 piece short brown envelope

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Due to pandemic, oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees will be done virtual or online. The online oathtaking application system (e-oath) can be accessed at Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS).

VERIFICATION OF RATINGS

Physician board exam’s verification of ratings (passers, non-passers and removal) can be done online.

Visit PRC’s “Verification of Rating” service and enter the required information to verify your identity. Note that this will be available in few working days after the release of results.


COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION

The PLE or medicine board exam covered the following subjects:

September 11: biochemistry, anatomy and histology, microbiology and parasitology

September 12: physiology, legal medicine, ethics and medical jurisprudence and pathology

September 18: pharmacology and therapeutics surgery and opthalmology, otolaryngology and rhinology and medicine

September 19: obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and nutrition and preventive medicine and public health


RELEASE OF RESULTS

According to PRC Resolution No. 1283 series of 2020, PLE board exam results will be released on Thursday, September 23 or after four (4) working days.


NOTE: Results may be released ahead of the target or on later date without prior notice. Takers may expect for the announcement of results between September 22 and 30.


PREVIOUS EXAMS

In the March 2021 Physician board exams, PRC released results after three (3) working days. A total of 1,234 out of 1,927 passed the grueling exams. Jeremiah Dimapeles Lim from Far Eastern University (FEU)- Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation topped the board with 89.67%.

In the November 2020 Physician board exams, PRC announced results after seven (7) working days. A total of 3,538 out of 4,704 passed the series of tests. Jomel Garcia Lapides from University of the Philippines – Manila aced the board with 88.67%.

In the March and September 2020 PLE, PRC announced that only 800 out of 1,424 passed the tests. The results were released in eight (8) working days from the last day of examination. Maria Carla Edejar Buenaflor, also from UP – Manila topped the board with 89.17%.

In the September 2019 PLE, results were released online after four (4) working days. A total of 4,006 out of 4,716 passed the exams. Federico Adriano Peralta IV from University of Santo Tomas led the passers with 90.92%.
