MANILA, Philippines – The September 2021 Respiratory Therapist (RT) board exam results, to include the official list of passers, topnotchers (top 10), top performing schools and performance of schools are expected to be released online on Monday, September 20 or in two (2) working days after the exam.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Respiratory Therapy administered the licensure exam for respiratory therapist (LERT) in the cities of Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Zamboanga on September 15 and 16.
Note that exams in Manila was postponed due to the reversion of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine classification in the capital region.

REGISTRATION OF PASSERS
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
Those who will register are required to bring the following:
- downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
- notice of admission (for identification only)
- 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag)
- 2 sets of documentary stamps
- 1 piece short brown envelope
As advised, successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The date of the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examinations WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.
Due to pandemic, oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees will be done virtual or online. The online oathtaking application system (e-oath) can be accessed at Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS).

VERIFICATION OF RATINGS
Respiratory Therapist board exam verification of ratings (passers, non-passers and removal) can be done online. Visit PRC’s “Verification of Rating” service and provide the required information to verify your identity. Note that this can be available in few days after the exam.
COVERAGE OF EXAM
The September 2021 Respiratory Therapist board exams covered topics from Diagnostics (25%), Pathophysiology (25%), Respiratory Care (25%) and Neonatal and Pediatric Care (25%).
RELEASE OF RESULTS
According to PRC Resolution No. 1283 series 2020, the target release date of Respiratory Therapist board exam results is on Monday, September 20 or in two (2) working days after the exam. However, results may be released ahead of the target or on later date without prior notice.
PREVIOUS EXAMS
In the March 2021 Respiratory Therapist board exam, results were released online in two (2) working days after the exam. PRC named 294 out of 467 who passed the exams. Reinour Amilhamja Nebab from Universidad de Zamboanga topped the board with 87.50%.
In the September 2019 LERT, PRC also announced results in 2 working days after the exam. A total of 838 out of 1,227 passed the exams. Wendy Abigail Navarro Pulido of Central Luzon Doctor’s Hospital Educational Institution and Christine Leyte Tayona of Cagayan State University (CSU)-Andrews Campus tied on highest spot with 88%.
In the September 2018 exams, results were also released in 2 working days. PRC named 740 out of 1,018 who successfully passed the exams. Megan Ashley Casaverde Bartido of Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) aced the board with 89.75%.
CSU-Andrews Campus led the schools for Respiratory Therapist board exams in four previous exams or since 2017.

ABOUT THE PROFESSION
A respiratory therapist is a healthcare professional that specializes in the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities in the cardiopulmonary system. As a healthcare professional, the respiratory therapist is under the medical direction of a physician.
Among the functions of a licensed respiratory therapist are: provides tentative interpretation of tests obtained from physiological specimens, implements treatment programs on the basis of test findings within the scope of respiratory analysis, performs pulmonary function testing (PFT) maneuvers cardiopulmonary resuscitation and provide artificial airway.
The 4-year course in Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy in the Philippines is estimated to be Php 45,000 per semester.
